minor changes in stories

i just changed a single letter in an older story and the story appeared on top of "recently modified". before the update there used to be a limit of characters (50?) that at least had to be changed or added, before a story got a new time stamp (and the weblog claimed to be updated). i think that's gone now. is there any possibility for me to introduce this limit again?
