Does the new layout and navigation macro affect me?

I have read that there is a new layout method to customise skins, but I cannot find the "custom skins options" in the "skin editor"?

I have also read that the site.navigation macro is being deprecated. I do not seem to use the site.navigation macro, but I use the this.navigation macro. Is the this.navigation macro being deprecated too?

Does this affect me? If so, where do I find the "layout link" in the "skin editor"?
