I noticed the very nice feature "Color Picker" but unfortunately it doesn't change the preferences or shows the color code somewhere else. What am I doing wrong?

yes, unfortunately the color picker does not work at antville.org due to a javascript security issue caused by mixing the domain of the colorpicker script (www.antville.org) and the virtual domain each weblog is hosted at (e.g. help.antville.org).
browsers should not allow scripts from one domain to access objects of another (aka cross-domain scripting – which is the case with the colorpicker pop-up window trying to set properties in the form of the parent weblog).
it is possible to fix this but i am not sure about the right way, yet.
