Hi, quick questions.
Under every post in the weblog there is the link Me option. Can anyone explain it's function/uses? Another question I have is how, or can I, put the thumbnails of images into the stories, but still keep the full sized images in the imagepool? How difficult is it to mess with the skins? What programming knowledge is required? JavaScript only? When creating a new thread/story it gives the option to have the story offline, online in topic or online in weblog? Can you explain the differences? Sometimes when I choose one option the post doesn't get posted, do you have to choose a specific option to post the story to the blog? When choosing who the post is editable for, are you able to make another option that the posts are only editable by the authors, and/or admin or is contributors only the highest level? I mean this only for posts made by admin, posts made by Contributors should only get the option of making it editable by Contributors only, well actually, it'd be nice for only the author and admin to be able to edit the post. Last question and I know this may not be answerable or may be a whole lot of work, but is it possible to set up instant email notifications when new posts are made, to the subscribers of my blog? For example is there some source code available for this or other features. My thanks in advance, and happy blogging, Jak.

the linkme option provides a permanent url for a story you currently might see on a weblog's frontpage. if you can imagine that this story will disappear from the front one very day, it's good to have this permanent url to find it again.
when you put a thumbnail in a story, the image is still kept in the imagepool with its original size. just be sure to delete the max/min values when uploading and you know that your image will exceed these dimensions.
you don't need any javascript skills to "mess with the skins." it's plain html (as long as you don't want to do tricky things with the browser, anyway) plus antville macros.
when you post a story as "offline" it won't be visible for your readers but certainly it gets into your weblog's storypool (and is marked as "offline"). if you set it "online in weblog", it will be displayed on the frontpage, and "online in topics" only shows the story in the so-called topic space (which is a method to categorize a story under a certain keyword).
afaik, admins are able to edit any post of their weblog, generally. more specific roles are currently not available (butn i don't know if they will be, soon?)...
concerning the mail notification of new posts, i think this feature is already in the pipe, isn't it robert?
:)

that it's "in the pipe", but it's in mind.
reg. story-editing: admins are allowed to edit/delete everything, and as long as an author doesn't specify any group (contributors/subscribers), nobody except the author and the admin can edit a story.

Now I have another quick question and a plea for advice. Firstly, how do you delete a post, looked around for the option but couldn't find it. I made a couple of test posts that I'd like to delete.
Secondly, I have some major plans for what I would like to do with my antville blog and really need some help. I would like to configure it to how I need and also host it on my server with Helma. I am bound to come across many difficulties in the process and I would like to really put some time into it over the next month to have it set up for my use. My email address is davidjakka@hotmail.com. My yahoo IM is fcrand27, same for AOL IM. If anyone has the time and patience available to tutor me thru the roadbumps along the way it would be very sincerely appreciated. I am not asking for someone to do what I need, only to tutor me to help me understand what I do not know how to do, give suggestions for websites or other useful knowledgebases. If there is anyone out there who is willing to help someone who genuinely wants to learn and make his page as good as can be I thank you and you may contact me thru any of the above. If there is none out there who have the time I also understand and thank you for reading my post, I shall continue to use this help board and any other with my questions and problems. Again thank you muchly for reading and for the very prompt and helpful answers to my initial questions.
Jak.
