oops, I ask that again
is there a chance to put the number of stories on the weblog's frontpage in another style than in that day-by-day modus?

For me, this is the most wanted feature at all.
Good to know, that there is a tentative solution: Insert in your story-edit-skin the following code:
[Macro not allowed in sandbox: story.createtime]
Now you can edit the time and date of creation for the story, what affects the number of stories on the frontpage "through the back-door".
But don't try to use your own formatting pattern, like
[Macro not allowed in sandbox: story.createtime]
because this is a bit dangerous: If your time string is bad formatted accidentally, you will see a very nasty error message instead of your story, like this one: [HopMacro error in site.calendar: org.mozilla.javascript.EvaluatorException: Cannot convert NaN to java.lang.Integer (Site/macros.js#302)],
and you'll not be able to edit or delete the story.
