why are the recently modified list items in a table? has that been the default sometime?
yes, your code is dirty. there are dozens of mistakes in there. sorry, i don't have a tip which one in particular could be causing your problem, but i suggest you try to fix them all. just use the validator.

I stopped to rework my layout some time ago, because of all these updates, upgrading this and that. now it is completely bastardized, caught somewhere in between the versions. one of these days I will have to start over from a blank page. the validator does not make sense, btw, with 200 mistakes. thx anyway.

the validator does make sense, it's just that many messages are rather cryptic and the actual problem is not immediately obvious. however, there's a FAQ that helps you with that.
by the way, this also happened to me a few weeks ago: i had new skins, but when i inported them into a new antville version, all went pine shaped. i'm not sure wheter it really was the best solution, but this is what worked for me: i started with the new default layout and slowly, one skin after the other, converted it into the new stuff by having the default and my own files side by side and copy&pasting my code over into appropriate places. the stylesheet was an exception, i started out with a blank one and added definitions as needed.
it was a tedious process (which is still not finished, so there's no download yet), with the advantage that everything was checked twice, so the new version of my new layout looks about the same as the initial version of my new layout, but it's still better actually.
the validator still reports a few problems, but antville itself has to be fixed; working on that...
