(www.wbloggar.com)
Danke für die Hilfe schonmal

The majority speaks German here, but an even greater percentage understands English, so most like to use it in order to make the information accessible to everyone.

1. i did use the search, but couldn't find anything to my qeusions - maybe i used the wrong terms ;)
2. I've got a server running with 5 different IP's. But without changing the ip? I've got apache running about 50 domains on that server. How could i setup helma/antville to run on port 80 on a special domain? it uses it own webserver and i don't think both can answer one request on one ip on the same port!? i don't want to run tomcat on the whole machine just for antville cause tomcat used to "eat" lots of resources - that's why i deactivated it.
Details on the server:
- Redhat 7.2 / Ensim Webppliance
- P4 2,4 / 1GB Ram
- i use mysql as antville-db
Thanks for your help again

Ah, a very nice setup you have there. Of course you can't have to web servers listening to the same port at the same IP, but why don't you just connect Helma to the existing Apache? Once this is done, you can put your Antville in a subdirectory of an existing Host (via URL rewriting), or you can set up a virtual Host just for your Antville, either name-based or IP-based. I'm not an Apache wizard, but the Apache docs cover that quite nicely.
I also don't know enough to be able to comment on the resource-eating you mentioned, does anyone know if such problems can occur with the AJP13 method I suggested?

some other problem:
when trying to upload an image i get a timeout error in the browser and the server-console reports errors on loading some x.window.objects? is X necessary ofr antville? i don't think so...
any help?
kris
if you use java 1.3. you need x for the images, but you can also start Xvfb and you need to add the line "export DISPLAY 1.0" (or whichever display Xvfb runs on) to your hop.sh.
