Antville Bugs

- As a subscriber I get the message “sorry you are not allowed to add stories to this weblog” when I click on the “stories” link of the linked path of a "full story" webpage. Similar to the topics page, I would expect a subscriber to see the list of “online” stories and not be allowed to add a story.
- Confirmation Email uses the administrators profile email address instead of the Preferences email address.
- I wanted comments to have a captial letter "C" but the story.commentcounter macro does not display the number of comments when the macro is defined with... story.commentcounter no=" Comments" one=" Comment" more=" Comments"
- Antville skins (assume macros too) are meant to be XHTML compliant, but when I tried to validate my webpage a WBR tag generated by Antville in "Recently Modified" caused it to fail.
- “set online” and “Add a story to topic” have no text option e.g. ability to change “set online” to “Publish”.
- When you delete a story the warning message has the typo "klick" instead of "click".

ad 4.: Which version of Antville do you use? AFAIK, the '<wbr>' problem was solved ages ago, I don't get that on antville.org, nor on my own server.
ad 5.: Actually it's not just that. A better problem description would be: There's lots of hardcoded stuff that would actually belong into skins, message files and so on. I could name numerous examples, but I don't think the general solution should be inventing loads of macros with text parameters.

It appears in my "site map" story which is a list of stories using XHTML markup. Maybe the XHTML list markup is a factor. I dunno.

I don't find a <wbr> on that page, could you provide a link, please? The validator does find some problems, but none with a <wbr>. I guess the first one is because you have to put you nested <ul> in a <li> element.
JohnWalsh
Antville.org generates a
wbr
for the Site Map story in the Recently Modified list. Look now. It does not generate awbr
in the Site Map story itself.
, I enclosed the nestedul
list within anli
as suggested and it validated!! I think this is a validator bug, but I'll reserve judgement until I speak to some more people.nex
Sorry, can't help you there, I guess one of the Antville devs will have to have a look at this (mention this at project.antville.org if they don't react here). I just tried starting a story with a veryveryveryveryveryveryveryverylongword on my server (which runs a very current Antville, just a few days old) and didn't get a <wbr>.

antville is told to distribute wbr tags every foo characters in long words to possibly break 'em down into smaller chunks and thus, prevent the "recently modified" layout from getting messed up.
it's also true that wbr tags are not compliant with the current xhtml spec the html code was validated against. please accept this as a minor bug to be fixed when the time for a general revision of the default antville layout has come.

Has Recently Modified macro been updated in an attempt to fix
wbr
tag?In the last few days my navigation box has widened mysteriously. I commented out the Recently Modified macro and my navigation box returned to its previous width which implies the macro has been modified.
As a work-around, I introduced spaces to the site map story between HTML tags to stop the
wbr
tag been generated in Recently Modified list. This worked.hns
Thanks for the report.
1. is a bug and should be fixed.
2. I can't confirm this right now without further inspection. Anybody else?
3. I think for zero or one comments, you ought to include the number in the text, e.g.: no="No Comments" one="One Comment" more=" Comments"
4. Tobi answered that already
5. is a bug, fixing it now.
6. is a bug, fixing it now.

Ref 3. Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to customise the comments text as I suggested, which means its still a bug. Besides, it will still not work for you suggestion with the "more" option.
