Trouble with configuration
I keep having trouble with configuration. After manipulating both skin and preferences I came up with something reasonable (in my view), saved it - and was in for a suprise next time I logged on: color values as defined in preferences had switched to something I really hadn't had in mind, while skin changes carried through. Background and font colors seem to be a variant of the default values, pretty close to this place's look.
Will have to change webloghead image in the skin editor to change, well, the webloghead, right?

...if you are trying to get rid of the pic with the dots, yes, that's the webloghead thingie in the skin "main page". If you want to change the looks of your weblog-title font (the word "text" on your page), you have to dig directly into the stylesheet-Skin. look for the entry ".title" and handle it carefully ;) (the title-values in the preferences apply to story & comment titles only.)
Can't imagine what happened to your colors though.

That color thing is weird. My changes don't seem to get stored properly. Might my browser (Opera 6.0.2) be the culprit?

That might be the problem. Something to do with opera's handling of cookies, I think. A friend of mine couldn't post anything from opera - it helped to change opera's settings to "accept all cookies" (except 3rd party cookies).

You might have an issue with how your browser is caching the page. I had this problem early on, and I got in the bait of always refreshing a page before editing it, including skins, stories, and preferences. That way you know you are editing the most recent version. I haven't had that problem since.
