strange things happen ... (maybe s.one can help)
i installed msql, java, helma and everything works fine. but: when i copied antville into the apps folder nothing happend. I followed all instructions and i can access antville via the manage funktion of helma. under localhost:8080/antville there is still nothing. only "side not found". i changed all paths, eeverything. i really dont know what to do. then in an act of frustration i just copied all folders within the code folder into the antville folder. believe me or not: it seemed to work. .. well at least there is something (not sure if everythig is ok). is that possible that the folders in the .zip are not in the rhight order?

move the folders back to the code directory and add the following line to your apps.properties in the helma installation directory:
antville.appDir = /path/to/helma/apps/antville/code(you need to replace /path/to/helma with the correct path on your local machine.)
btw. you probably might find it worth subscribing to the antville-user mailing-list.

there is a helma ...and an antville ..zip file in the code folder of my antville installation. there are several folders inside (Global, Root etc) with java scrips. where should i put them? i guess then the picture upload function should work.

where they are. helma can read zip-files and add their contents to the application code.
could you provide a detailed description of what exactly does not work when you upload an image? do you get an error message?

You need an updated HelmaLib.zip package. I recommend you download a fresh Antville package (I just updated all of them), and copy HelmaLib.zip from it to your installation.
(Certainly, you can take the new package as well as update HelmaLib.zip with CVS if you want/can.)

help.antville.org was and has established as discussion platform for people maintaining their sites here at antville.org, and i admit it's not carved in stone anywhere.
however, on the list you will find more people discussing issues like this image upload problem. thus, here is not totally the wrong place but it still remains not totally the right one.
and i am certainly glad that it's working now.
